One of my happiest memories as a kid was when we lived on a small holding and the components of Sunday lunch had come entirely from the garden (give or take the cornflower and oxo cube for gravy). On that score I’d really like to grow the wheat to make flower to make bread but my bakery expert partner informs me that it is unlikely and potentially dangerous.
The seedling above appeared with a drop of dew at its tip, not quite sure I’ve got it in focus. We’ve got two trays of sweet corn on the go as they promise to double as a food source and a 2m high screen.
