I am a spiritual seeker and have discovered that the seeking is more fruitful than the finding for birthing wisdom. More often than not the greatest treasures are found in the darkness – riches stored in secret places that the God who knows us by name has promised to lead us to if only we’d switch of the television set and go and . . . That Great Creative Spirits interactions with us are endlessly consistent but ever new and patterns emerge from ancient texts and modern invention. Surprises are to be found in places we’ve long given up looking in and the challenges to us as 21 century worldlings are huge – if only we could be in the world but not of it . . .
The ancient wisdom is said to have been given simultaneously around the world. As it was claimed by the ancient Vedic seats in India, Moses was getting the Law on the mountain – and then came the prophets and then those embodying the wisdom: In the east there was Buddha and in the west Jesus the Son of God. Since then there have been thousands of interpretations and practices but I’ve been interested in finding out what the commonalities are. What helps us stay in touch with the divine.
I’m not talking here about definitions of doctrine or religion but just the simple steps that we can take that will help us remain spiritually healthy. The job of a Spiritual Director is to help you recognise the transcendent; but in this series prayer and the understanding of God will be implicit by-products. This is about tools for the journey rather than what the journey is heading towards.
What is spirituality for? Love, peace, worship, creativity . . . What is smiley spirituality? Love, peace, worship and creativity with a smile on your face.

It is important to maintain and live a mature, healthy, and spiritual life. Just like it is important to follow the footsteps of successful people to be successful, it is important to follow the spiritual people to maintain spirituality. Great resource.
